5 out of 5 stars   One of the Holy Trinity lenses.
By Don (OEF) September 04, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens - Factory Refurbished (NK70200AFSVR2RB)
Verified Reviewer
Pros: Great zoom range, fast lens, VR capability, sharp focus. No problems with it being refurbished.
Cons: Autofocus doesn't always lock in on what your subject is, have to switch to manual focus sometimes.
Other Comments: A great lens despite the autofocus problem with complex scenery. Been using it with teleconverter and am pleased with the results.

5 out of 5 stars   Very Happy! minor blemish... so what!
By Dolfje July 28, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens - Factory Refurbished (NK70200AFSVR2RB)
Verified Reviewer
Pros: Lengendary lens. Paid 1800 including shipping and no tax Cheaper than $2600 for new non refurb Gorgeous pictures using all f stops Works well with tele converter tc-20e III
Cons: Heavy lens.
Other Comments: Came shipping within a couple days. Had a minor blemish (from rubbing?)on the lens barrel that I evened out carefully with a schotch pad. Lens now looks like brand new. I was thinking about docking a star for the blemish but then I thought. Hey is refurbed. Thats why its 800 bucks cheaper!

5 out of 5 stars   Refurbished 70-20mm f/2.8 VR-II
By RK (Overland Park KS) July 01, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens - Factory Refurbished (NK70200AFSVR2RB)
Verified Reviewer
Pros: Saved a lot of money without any compromise on image quality. The lens is practically new condition except that it came in a white box with limited warranty. This is probably the millionth review that the lens is amazing and has no par in IQ. I had to buy a new bag because my Slingshot AW200 is tiny for this huge lens.
Cons: Pricey, but worth every penney.
Other Comments: There is an interesting cut shape in the back of the lens in a black cushy material near the mount. This part essentially goes into the body when attached to the camera. It looked like a symmetrical hexagon with nice rounded edges. I got worried when I saw that - concerned that this is a problem with the 'refurbished' part of the lens. I frantically googled for pictures of the back of the lens, and I was very relieved to see similar cut in the pictures online. There was nothing to worry about.

Pros: I save a pile of cash on an effectively brand new lens that performs and functions perfectly.
Cons: None
Other Comments: I will look to BUYDIG.COM for other such items in the future as their staff was very responsive, even gave me a call before the item shipped just to varify the order specifics. Awesome customer service and a good way to build customer loyalty.

5 out of 5 stars   My Favorite Lens
By Sports Photorapher (Westford, MA) April 04, 2012
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens For Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (NK70200AFSVR2)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Improves Picture Quality, Easy To Use, Sharpest Images
Cons:
Other Comments: I purchased this lens to replace the original 80-200 mm f/2.8 ED AF lens. I am a sports photographer and find that using a monopod isn't always feasible, especially when shooting alpine ski racing. The VR II lens enables me to shoot without one. I would encourage anyone to bite the bullet and go for the upgrade. The quality of the images is superior to any other lens I have owned!

4 out of 5 stars   Heavy, heavy, heavy.
By Orangeman (Connecticut) November 05, 2011
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens with Deluxe Filter Kit Bundle (E1NK70200AFSVR2)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Durable, Nice Bokeh, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
Cons: Heavy
Other Comments: Heavy, heavy, heavy. I had a previous Tokina 80-200/2.8 and this makes a notable difference to my camera bag weight. I really wish it were lighter. The optics are great. This is my first VR lens and it's terrific. The filters are not multicoated, but since the filters come with the lens for the same price as the lens itself, they're free!

5 out of 5 stars   World class lens, terrible packing
By ColorBandit (Colorado Springs CO USA) November 03, 2011
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens with Deluxe Filter Kit Bundle (E1NK70200AFSVR2)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Nice Bokeh, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Consistent Output, Fast aperture, Strong Construction, Rugged, Durable, Sharp at all focal length
Cons: Heavy
Other Comments: This is one of Nikon's all-time best lenses ever. I had to buy one after borrowing one from a Nikon rep at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. There was a huge improvement in the sharpness and quality of the photos I took over my Nikon 18-200VR. I couldn't believe my eyes, but Buydig threw in a free 77mm filter set. It closed the deal for me and saved me $100.

Pros: Durable, Rugged, Nice Bokeh, Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Cons: Heavy
Other Comments: OK, this lens is a tank. It's heavy. So what. It takes incredible pictures even in my amateur hands. I use this lens every chance I get. It's great for my daughter's softball and tennis. It's a great portrait lens. The only thing it can't do is macro. It cost me a lot, but it is absolutely worth it.

5 out of 5 stars   It just doesn't get any better!!!
By WillP (Middletown, NY) August 09, 2010
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens For Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (NK70200AFSVR2)
Pros: Very Fast To Focus, Sharp Sharp Sharp, Easy To Use, VRII, Super Quiet
Cons: NONE for me thank you
Other Comments: I really really wanted this lens last year, but I needed to replace my 3rd party 24-70 2.8 so I opted to purchase the Nikkor 24-70 2.8 (Incredible in its own right) before acquiring my 70-200 2.8 VRII. (Both Purchased here) I am using my new lens with my D300 (Not "S")which was also purchased here. Man oh man is this lens great. Very fast to focus, quiet, the VRII is fantastic and it is as sharp as a scalpel. I also like the new M/A switch making the autofocus secondary manual focus. It is a hefty beast. That being said, it is very well balanced and easy to handle making it a non issue for me. It is a testament to the build quality and materials used to create such a fine product. Nikon has a real winner here...
