tack sharp and fast focus but would like the Image Stabilization feature for capturing action under low light conditions.

This lens is great! I really like the colors and contrast, bokeh is great and focus is great too. Sharp all the way to f1.4. I wanted a lens that was sharp wide open like my 135 f/2L, so I ordered this one. The first copy I got was not good, autofocus was inconsistent and it was not sharp wide open, so i sent it back-a little dissapointed that I had to pay for shipping it back. But the next copy I got was tack sharp and accurately focusing. To check if it is up to par for me, I zoom in all the way on my 7D when reviewing a photo and make sure I can see pores on my subject's face and that it is crisp all the way in. Of course they are still sharp on my computer too. Great lens overall, a non-telephoto equivelent of my 135L. A little pricey 1400-ish but I don't regret it at all. It's worth it.

One Sweet Lens!!!!
The Only bad thing I have to say about this lens is why I waited so long to get it.

i bought this lens to replace my 24-70mm 2.8 because i want to shoot wide open at 1.4 - 2.0.i have to say the images taken from the lens are decent but the design of the lens feel a little outdated and the fact that it is not weather seal worries me a little. For the price, i am not sure this lens is worth it. It is about the same price with the 24-70 f2.8, but i think the zoom offers much more for the price than the 35L.but i am bored with the zoom, therefore, i buy this lens and use it for a while for a change.
