Lens seems to be built very well and the shots that I have taken with it so far are crisp and clear. Compared to my other lenses (Tamron 18-270 and Canon 50mm 1.8), picture quality is very good. Only downsides that I have found are the louder than average auto-focus and the lens creep while carrying when set to manual. Since I almost always shoot in manual the AF noise is of no concern and I simply switch to AF while walking to stop the lens creep.

I presented this lens to my daughter as a gift; it was a lens that she had been eyeing for some time but could not afford.

She has indicated that she is very pleased with its performance and that it has met her every expectation. I have seen the results which are awesome --- pictures of her children and wild life.

I have been very pleased with the lens. Very good quality. Accurate focus. Lightweight. Typically I would purchase a Canon version, but am very pleased with the Tamron quality and clarity. Only down side is that the focusing mechanism is fairly noisy.
