I am only being unreasonably picky when I listed "Heavy Glass Pitcher" as a con. I wanted a glass pitcher, which is expected to be much heavier than the plastic ones, and I got it in this Cuisinart!

I use it mostly for making smoothies. I have never yet used it for making soup because I like brothy soup. My old one was loud and worn down. I looked around and tried to find a quieter replacement. The other highly rated ones are around $400-$500, which is way out of the range I am willing to pay for a "blender" for making smoothies. I find this Cuisinart a great buy for my intended use and it fulfills my requirement as a quieter replacement.

I am on Weight Watchers and this is such an incredible item for making soups. I love that I am not using many different kitchen tools. People have commented on the difficulty in cleaning this item, but I am not finding it difficult at all. Because of the electronics in the base of the pitcher, you cannot put it in the dishwasher, but that is a small inconvenience. I thoroughly read the directions before using the Soup Maker and Blender. The recipes that are provided are great and all of the nutritional information was provided so Weight Watchers Points are easy to determine. It is an investment, but I look forward to using the item for years to come. I love it.
