Pros: Fast shipping and a good deal, plus found a promo code.
Cons: Not really a con, but they did have the exact same camera/lenses on the web site as a separate bundle, for more money (for less stuff), so shop wisely and thoroughly.

Pros: Small size, portable, easy to use with great versatility. Canon really packs it in to this almost pocket sized full featured SLR. Great for family pictures through semi-professional. Economically priced lens and accessory package offers a great range from wide angle to telephoto covering most requirements. Beach camera packages are the best.
Cons: May be a little hard to handle for "big fingered" people. A tilt/flip screen would increase versatility for angle shots and movies.
Other Comments: Great entry for Canon giving you a full featured SLR slightly larger than a point and shoot camera.

5 out of 5 stars   Beginner''s review
By GrandBob (Los Angeles, CA) June 17, 2014
Review submitted for Canon EOS Rebel SL1 18MP SLR Digital Camera + EF-S 18-55mm IS STM Lens (CNDRSL11855)

Pros: This camera was designed for SLR beginners. That is how I picked it and that is why I rated it so highly. As usual for Beach Camera, it arrived on time and in perfect condition. The SL1 format is a challenging learning experience, but Canon goes a long way to providing everything you need in the way of lessons to become a skilled photographer. All you have to do is study and experiment: it'll take maybe three to six months to reach competence (the ability to master most photographer challenges).
Cons: This is no toy. The automatic settings may make for perfect shots, but you have to think and study to deal with manual settings and to get the variations on automatic that make for real photos. The DVDs provided with the package could be better explained.

5 out of 5 stars   Canon EOS Rebel SL1
By jayceedee (Los Angeles, CA) June 01, 2014
Review submitted for Canon EOS Rebel SL1 18MP SLR Digital Camera Body (CNDRSL1)

Pros: Fantastic sensor--good high iso performance--very quiet shutter release--small but still holdable--improved phase detection AF--excellent value
Cons: For what one gets with the SL1 for the cost, there is NO cons!
Other Comments: I purchased the SL1 to complement my EOS-M; a small camera with the same capabilities (albeit better in a slightly chunkier package) as the EOS-M. The SL1 is a fantastic DSLR and a stellar value for what one gets!

Review submitted for Canon EOS Rebel SL1 SLR Digital Camera EFS 18-55 + 55-250STM Ultimate Rebel Experience (E44CNDRSL11855)
Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: I have always had very good service from Beaches. The merchandise usually comes in 3 days to Illinois. The package Kits are so nice; they include all you need. I just wanted a more powerful flash unit so I ordered it and it was here in 3 days. Now I am set; have been able to take great close-up photos as well as far away shots. This is the second camera I have purchased from them and again was very satisfied.

Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: We looked at cameras for weeks and finally decided on the sl1 and hav been very happy with it! We also bought the pancake lens to make te camera even smaller. We hav been shooting in auto and portrait so far and editing and iPhoto and have some great pictures! The camera is relatively small and we have found it ez to use. We were looking at the t5 and 4 and Nikon 5200. Very happy with this choice.

5 out of 5 stars   Best Small DSLR there is
By DaveD (Cincinnati) June 16, 2013
Review submitted for Canon EOS Rebel SL1 18MP SLR Digital Camera Body (CNDRSL1)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Very small and light
Cons: Has A Cheap Plastic Fee
Other Comments: First it has a cheap plastic feel, but I realize that is what makes it so light. Other than that it is a great camera. I carried a Canon A-1 w/ motor winder and a Tonika 28-205 zoom for many years. it was heavy. When I converted to digital I became spoiled by the small light cameras. When the DSLR's hit the market, I was appalled by the size and weight. For years I stuck w/ Canon Powershot high end SX's. SX's were just not fast enough. The SL-1 is the same size as my SX-20 just thicker and a little heavier. I bought the Tamron 18-270 zoom and now I have the perfect camera, small, fairly light-weight and it does nearly everything I ask of it and more. This is a brand new camera so I didn't expect to find it greatly discounted, it was the same price everywhere. But with all the extra's Beach Camera throws in it was more than just a great bargain, and no Ohio sales tax and of course free shipping.
