This radio is great. It gives so many options in the operation. Area you want to listen to, sound level, multiple alarm sounds, and choice of the alerts you want to have the alarm go off for. I would recommend this radio to everyone.

This product is designed primarily for providing weather or disaster alerts, and serves that function well. It can also be used as an alarm clock, for which it was poorly designed. It displays the date prominantly, but the clock display is quite small and impossible to see from more than a foot away. The angle of the LCD panel and the fact that the lighting is blue makes the display impossible to read when viewed below eye level. It works best when viewed at eye level and looking straight forward. It can tune all available weather alert stations or just ones you specify. It has an AM/FM radio function that seems reasonably sensitive and the speaker seems to be good quality.

The storm alert is automatic and is battery operated when unplugged from power or power is off. Very portable when needed. Radio has an OK sound and the the alarm clock is next to impossible see regardless whether the back light is on or off. We live in southern Missouri where storms can come at any time. It is nice to have something to warn you of danger in the middle of the night or day when you are not expecting trouble.
