These over the ear headphones work great for listening to podcasts/music or watching Netflix or Youtube videos. I use them mostly without noise cancellation. About 2.5 to 3 hours is my comfort limit for wearing these.

Noise cancellation:
In my office they reduce the HVAC noise to almost zero.
In a 757 I would estimate about a 70% reduction in sound.
In a server room they reduce the fan noise by about half.


I think the reason for poor server room performance is there are lots of different fans putting out lots of different frequencies.

Pros:
These are comfortable when adjusted properly. Since they are packed in the case all the time it needs to be adjusted each time. They are a little tight sqeeze but better than falling off, some might still find a bit tight.

Sound is very good to great when noise cancellation is on, ok (and much lowered volume) when off. It blocks out most of the ambient sound but not as good as the Bose QC15. A bit but is that the Bose cost almost 4x these Able Planets and I cant justify this really. Quite a bit more bass then I've been having with my other headphones (one pair of Shure's and then a pair of cheap closed back cans)

Mainly use these for travelling to work on the subway/tube and flying.

Cons:
The cable is a bit thin but no worse then most other brands, also they are easily replaceable with a normal 3.5mm cable if necessary.

Wish it had a microphone input but I'm just being picky.

Recommended for its value to sound ratio. Buy them while they are still available!!!!!!

I use these headphones on a daily basis for transcription work that I do on my laptop. The sound is incredibly clear, even without using the cancellation feature. I have found that with the cancellation feature on I am able to hear clearly even on airplanes or in moving vehicles. I love having the ability to control volume on the cord. I also love that the cord is completely detachable - I have found that cords are usually at fault for headphones dying. This way, you can just replace the inexpensive cord if there is an issue rather than having to replace the entire headset. The case that these come in is stylish and sturdy. I feel like the headphones are well-protected when I travel or when I am simply storing them when not being used.

Within 5 months of light use, the swivel on the earpiece has broken. Looking at it further, it is cheap plastic used to hold it together. Contacting Able Planet (which is a challenge in itself and took 2 weeks for a reply) resulted in them not offering to repair or replace the item, but only to provide a 50% discount on any open box item. Beware of this headset. The high (non-discounted) cost is no reflection of it's quality.
