Comments about Asus Wireless Access Point RT-N56U Dual Band:
Easy to set up until you get to the part about setting up the printer using the USB port. Then the info just dries up, nothin', nada.

Great router with a stong signal
By History Buff
from Rochester, NY
I've had the Asus n router for about a month. I needed a router with a strong signal to cover two floors of my large house, and this one did the job. I have five bars in every room but one, which is the most remote from the router. Even in that room I get 3 bars and can use a laptop with no problem. It is a huge improvement from my prior g router. So far it has been very reliable. My most demanding use is streaming video using a Roku box on my flat screen tv. The tv is in the one room with 3 bars signal, so I installed a powerline device which is connected to the router with an ethernet cable. The system works great.

Worth the cost compared to cheaper route

I had a litle glitch at the beginning, but after I sorted it out the router has performed flawlessly. I have not had a dropped connex and it routinely runs 350-400 mps on my fastest machine - 150 on the Linux box.

Very easy to set up including setting up th secure network. I would recommend this Asus product to anyone!
Great Range, Easy Setup
from Castle Rock, CO
Super easy to set up. Connection seems a lot faster than my old dual-band router. Security setup was a breeze and it didn't drop my connection all the time like my old router. Terrific router and the signal is stronger upstairs now.

I've always had trouble with routers as we run every thing in my house on wi fi.... Not this time, Even when we have two or three people on the NET playing flash games or streaming video i never lose or lag in my 360/X-box live connection. The 2.5 is fast, the 5g is awesome. Also the ability to set "flow" preference is a great additionI would recommend this to anyone who needs a good, fast, stable router.

Really solid router for the money
from San Rafael, CA
About Me Quality Oriented
Bought this router to replace a 10 year old Netgear. We now have about 10 devices wirelessly attached and my old router lagged. This router is incredibly responsive and very fast, almost no perceived lag. I have a 20 mbps internet connection and from a different floor and opposite end of the house i can download at 17 mbps to my ipad. I already bought and returned a Buffalo router that had poor signal at the same distance, but the antenna is quite strong on this Asus. The router was very easy to install and has a really nice web configuration page, which means you can access it from any attached device. I would give it five stars except I haven't been able to figure out how to attach a printer to the USB port (s) of the router and successfully print. I have read others complain about this issue, perhaps it will be addressed with a firmware update. However, on all other counts I think it's a great router.
