Wooden housings made of African Paddock not only look great-they contribute to the superior acoustic reproduction that these beautiful headphones offer. Audio-Technica's specially designed 42 mm neodymium drivers project powerfully. Luxurious earpads deliver for long-wearing comfort. The headphones fold for compact storage.

Very good sound effect and quality. Perhaps the only problem is that you should take good care of it.

I upgraded to these from AT-ES7 headphones and the ATH-ESW9A's are much better in terms of comfort. I can wear these for hours without feeling the pinch on the ears (unlike the AT-ES7). For portable headphones the sound is great and doesn't require an amp. Although closed they don't keep sound entirely out but does do a pretty good job keeping sound in.

Very comfortable up to 2 hrs. Around 2 hrs of wearing, the cup feels a bit small and I already have small ears. My ears my get tired faster when I wear a hat and the headphones pushes my upper ear into my hat, and that gets kinda tiring. Sound quality is superb. Great mids, highs, and lows. Not the best for sound isolation, but you should know that already. It wasn't meant for sound isolation. Just quality sound, comfort, and portability.
