the Snowball is the perfect microphone for beginners as well as experienced users. while the Yeti is a louder mic, you can't beat the price/performance of the Snowball.
i use it primarily in group commentary on setting 3. all of our voices were picked up without a problem and some of use were a good distance away.
the only grips i have about it are pretty minor. the cable is a little too short at one of our locations but that is rarely a problem.
if you are on a budget like we are, the Snowball might be the mic for you but if you are a porfessional or require high end mics, you might find that this one falls a little short. other than that, it's great!

Buydig has great prices, but using this review page with a smatphone is a nightmare. They need to fix this page or I will no longer review products. But the snowball is great.

This microphone is by far the highest quality microphone for the price. I use it to record myself playing Alto Saxophone and it works like a charm.
