This 'L' series lens is Canon's first mid-telephoto macro lens to include its sophisticated Image Stabilization. With the highest quality optics available, combined with near-silent Ultrasonic focusing and life-size close-up capabilities without an adapter, the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM is simply unrivalled.

Great lens at a great price

Comments about Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Macro Lens:
Very sharp macro lens. Crisp shots with great bokeh. The only downside is the filter mount is 67mm, but step up rings are cheap so not a huge problem.

The price was ridiculously good! Had to do a double take to make sure this was the right lens.If you're looking for a great macro and portrait lens, this is it. I do both so it helps not having to swap lenses a lot. It's also a fast lens so it makes it possible to easily shoot in low light.
lowest price i've ever seen for 100L

Love the photos at 1:1
Great lens, not just for macro
Prime lenses tend to give better image quality than zoom lenses and this lens is no exception. It focuses extremely fast. Probably not as fast as the 135L lens, but comes close. Definitely faster than the 85 and 50. It's a great lens for portraits too. This lens is very versatile and I think the macro is an added bonus.
