Out of the box I used this for a shoot, hoping it would work as well as my Nikon system. I was pleased with the results. I augmented the flash with a reflective card and got superior results.

Better Results than Other Flashes

I love that this flash works automatically in all camera modes. I found the button release for the swivel head a little resistant and the select-set button requires precision to depress it (though it won't get accidentally depressed). I used it in a sizable room at a Community Center (50' x 100'?)and the flash did a good job lighting subjects across the width of the room. I used it outside at 2:00p on a sunny day with dense shadows, bounce flashed it off a reflector and got very nice results. It has increased my options dramatically for getting good results in bad lighting conditions. I've used an off-brand flash on my Canon camera in the past, and it produced a warm color cast whether I wanted it or not; the Canon flash has been much more versatile and gives me the white light I want, with the ability to produce warmer colors if that is what I am aiming for. I like this flash very much.
