Product Description:

Tamron Di lenses are performance optimized for digital SLR cameras and usable with DSLRs featuring sensors commonly referred to as APS-C, measuring approximately 24mm x 16mm, as well as larger full frame (36mm x 24mm) sensors and 35mm film SLRs.

The Tamron SP designation is reserved for lenses developed with special emphasis on extraordinary photographic performance. Engineers are free to innovate in an uncommon atmosphere where optical performance comes before price, resulting in lenses that satisfy the demands of discerning photographers.

Play with light as you explore the subtle aspects of beauty. An all-new, high-speed standard zoom lens with image stabilization.

Photographic artists have been waiting for a full-featured, constant-aperture zoom lens. The wait is over. The A007 is a high-quality, highly functional, high-speed standard zoom lens covering the 24-70mm focal range. It includes both Tamron's proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization to reduce shake and its USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor, enabling speedy, silent autofocusing. This SP (Super Performance) series lens makes full use of specialized glass elements in its lens layout, designed with top priority on image quality, including three LD elements and two XR (Extra Refractive Index) glasses. Tamron has minimized all types of chromatic aberration in the A007, making it a lens at the top of its class whether you use it on a digital APS-C, full-frame, or 35mm SLR camera. The A007's F/2.8 aperture enables a balance between brilliant resolution and beautiful soft blur effects. This ideal lens makes full use of Tamron's rounded diaphragm and the uncontrived, artistic blur that it provides. It is also Tamron's ?rst lens to feature our new moisture-resistant construction. Portraits. Landscapes. Studio shoots. This is the lens for them all. Capture the ?nest details of your images in precisely the way you have always wanted to. Extend your art to the limits of your inspiration with the A007.

5 out of 5 stars   Excellent alternative for Canon L
By PD (Atlanta, GA) October 08, 2013
Review submitted for Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD Lens for Canon EOS Mount (AFA007C-700) (TMSP2470F28DIEOS)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Excellent Build Quality, Very sharp, F28 Constant Aperature, Constant F28 Aperature
Cons: Tad Slow To Focus
Other Comments: I recently bought a Canon 6d and got the 24-105 F4 L lens with it. After using it for a few weeks, decided that I needed the f2.8. Sold the Canon lens online and bought the Tamron. Was concerned about quality issues but mine turned out to be an excellent copy. Love it. I have been playing it ever since I got it and have gotten some gorgeous pics with it. Well constructed, decently fast and very sharp. Perfect walk around lens. Great for indoor use, the image stabilization coupled with F2.8 works really well for videos especially in low light. This one is a keeper.

Review submitted for Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon Mount (AFA007N-700) (TMSP2470F28DINA)
Pros: Vc, Sharp
Cons:
Other Comments: !!Winning!! for $300 less than full price. Took kids pics recently, very very sharp and bokeh is awesome. I read lot of good reviews on this lens and to spend that kind of money, I was little hesitant and now I am glad to spend extra amount after looking at the results.

5 out of 5 stars   Definitely a winner!
By DocMo (Michigan) July 28, 2013
Review submitted for Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD Lens for Canon EOS Mount (AFA007C-700) (TMSP2470F28DIEOS)

Pros: Wonderful color, Tack sharp, Nice Solid Build
Cons: Zoom ring a little stiff
Other Comments: This Tamron lens is more than suitable as an alternative to Canon's flagship 24-70 f/2.8 II. The lens is solid, well built, tack sharp, and has the benefit of IS! Images produced have wonderful color and clarity. Focusing is generally not an issue - I use center point focus - and even at 2.8 my images have come out clear and sharp. Compared to the Canon lens, I don't see any reason not to get this Tamron lens!

5 out of 5 stars   Tremendous Bang for Your Money
By Photo Guy (Northern VA.) June 28, 2013
Review submitted for Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD Nikon Mount (AFA007N-700) - OPEN BOX (TMSP2470F28DINAOB)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Very Sharp Focus, Easy to carry, Quiet, Very Quick Focus
Cons: none
Other Comments: I read all of the reviews about this lens that I could find and I compared the lens to the Nikon equivalent. The Tamron lens provides tremendous bang for the buck at 2/3 the cost, even more bang if you buy Nikon refurbished, as I did. This lens should satisfy even the most discerning user, unless Nikon glass is the only kind you prefer to use.

3 out of 5 stars   A lot of hype but marginal results
By Newrider (Potsdam, NY) November 16, 2012
Review submitted for Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD Lens for Canon EOS Mount (AFA007C-700) (TMSP2470F28DIEOS)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Solid feel, Nice build
Cons: Heavy, Not Sharp At Full Open, Slow AF
Other Comments: I bought this for shooting indoor equestrian events with my Canon 60D. Lighting is usually nominal at best. In low light the lens tends to hunt more than my Canon 85mm 1.8 and the AF isn't fast enough to keep up with moving subjects. At full aperature the results were not sharp. The lens was sharp at F8 in full sunshine but I have less expensive lenses that produce similar results. I expected better results from a $1000.00 plus lens.

5 out of 5 stars   Great Lens
By MystRacing (Western Colorado) September 10, 2012
Review submitted for Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD Lens for Canon EOS Mount (AFA007C-700) (TMSP2470F28DIEOS)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Quiet, Sharp images, Fast autofocus, Build Quality
Cons:
Other Comments: This is a great lens. It's sharper than both my 24-105 F4L and 17-40 F4L Canon lenses at the same focal lengths. Ultrasonic Autofocus is fast and quiet. With the F2.8 it's great in low lighting. At over a grand less than the comparable (and at this point unavailable) cannon 24-70 F2.8 it's a steal. It's a big lense, if you're used to kit type lenses. It's pretty close to the same size as the 24-105 F4L Canon. I didn't put that in as a con because that is typical of high end lenses. I was a little worried about spending this much on a off brand lens but did it anyway and am glad I did. It has the same dust seal as my L series lenses. Other than missing the red line around the front I like it every bit as much as my Canon lenses.
