Hilo ukuleles started as a Hawaiian tradition and since the mid 20s the popularity has grown into a regular american tradition. They are a four string guitar-shaped instrument that are known for their unique tones. The sounds of these ukes will take you back to the island.

Great for Novice Uke Players!
By Music Dabbler

While this product is not the highest quality or even best-sounding, it's been great for a first-time ukulele player. Be prepared to buy extra strings. One of them broke the first time I tried tuning it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Hilo soprano ukulele
Hilo makes nice instruments, but you can only do so much with a soprano ukulele. Since the cost of it is low the quality is reflected in the sound produced. The finish on the body is nice and looks good. This is one, maybe two, steps up from a dime store ukulele, but for the beginner just learning the basics, it is an "OK" way to go.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
