Comments about Hewlett Packard Officejet Pro 8600 Inkjet Wireless Color Printer with Scanner, Copier & Fax:
The only con I have for this printer is that in Windows it does not allow you to set a custom paper size. It does have about 15 different paper, photo, & envelope sizes to select from in the printer options, which will cover most needs, but no custom paper size settings in the Windows driver. If you select a custom page size in Word for example, the printer will report an Incorrect Paper Size error and cancel the print job. This to me is a design omission in an otherwise great printer.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Better than HP 8500
from Cincinnati, OH
Better than 8500. But looks like the ink is only expensive HP for now. Buy the premium, comes with extra color cartridges and a second tray for a bit more than pro. One thing about the network connection I was a bit peeved is it is either wired or wireless.
Disappointing user interface.
This printer replaced my HP 7800. The move to a touch screen stinks. Its awkward to press. Sending a fax that was one button on the 7800 is 4 screens on the 8600. And at least one selection misses and you have to redo it.Adding paper is harder and awkward and requires removing a drawer rather than lifting a panel and sliding it in which could be done while printing. The paper drawer is 100 sheets less. There are operational improvements I like (speed, ink usage) but the overall user interface experience is a disappointing decline in functionality.I would have rather gotten a new model of the older unit.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
excellent two tray printer with WiFi
from Chester, VA
With two paper trays, the printer recognizes the need for plain paper and uses the tray assigned for that (I use tray two) and the other tray for envelopes if that is what is loaded and requested. you do not have to tell it to use the other tray as it will not use the plain paper tray when it needs envelopes.
Nice printer, wireless connection works great. Nice looking documents. Should be much cheaper to operate than it's predecessor a color laserjet
much better than the 8500all in one
from palm beach, florida
Speedy delivery. Best price in town...
Liked it so much I bought two.
from Lake Norman, NC
Great for our home office and school. Auto duplexing a plus, as is the ability to print over a network and via "air". Got the premium, extra paper tray & ink refills that come with it make it a bargain.
Wireless is Great
from Middleboro, MA
Wireless feature permits access to internet, including Apps available to download. Daily news, weather and puzzles download and print automatically, according to my own set schedule.
