About Me Semi-pro Photographer
Love Nikon D7000 for its quick and responsive abilities. I get the shot I want when I want it.
from Springfield, VA
I use this camera for kids sports photography. The lighting in high school stadiums at night is very challenging with older DSLRs. The D7000 with it's higher ISO makes taking great action shots in these stadiums a snap. I can't wait to try it in the school gym.

This D7000 is a remarkable camera. I am thrilled at the performance. The only con is the weight of the camera and lens.

D7000 is a great upgrade for D90 owners
from Albuquerque, New Mexico
I sold a D90 to upgrade to this D7000. It was well worth it. The camera feels very solid as the body is metal and not plastic. The openings are all sealed against water and dust. I noticed immediately that the shutter was quieter than the D90 and then has a special "Quiet" mode that makes it even quieter for weddings or other events where noise can be a problem. It also has an easily accessible mirror lock up feature. So far, I can't find anything negative to say about this great camera.

Great pictures, terrific value
from Clifton Park, New York
The D-7000 is extraordinarily versitile. It has the option of easy presets and P&S simplicity or manual and program options for the most experienced photographer. The 16 mpix resolution is terrific with no noticeable noise through 1600. The video capability is good but not the quality of a dedicated HD camcorder due largely to the focusing limitations. Dollar for dollar, this camera produces superb photos comparable to pro level cameras costing thousands more. Each new generation of Nikon prosumer cameras exhibit greater capabilities and this new model is no exception. It takes all the great features of the D-80 and D-90 and adds some of the capabilities of the pro level D-300, D-300S. It is a great camera for someone moving beyond mere point and shoot levels. The camera merits investing in better lenses because the resolution is capable of reproducing excellent detail and robust colors. The bottom line is that all photographs created in this camera exhibit excellent detail with rich saturated colors.
