Was very frustrated to buy a new camera and then it didn't work, had to deal with sending in to the manufacturer and it wasn't fixed in time for my month long vacation which was one of the main reasons I bought it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Tough and Capable Camera
By The Bombardier

Camera is terriffic and though "reconditioned" appears and operates as new. The varity of different settings pretty much allows a person to shoot pictures and movies of anything they need. They are kind of cheap with the small capacity card included with camera but additional card will take care of that. The battery seems to get used up a bit quicker than my previous camera but I can live with it for the capability I have now. A spare battery solves that issue. Not including a separate battery charger with camera means you have to stay connected unless you buy one. Chargers are cheap and have adaptors for autos. The biggest change (i.e. headache) for me is the new software included. I am not quite as into the social media and cloud scene and find I prefer the older version of software for editing. The new software has some amazing capabilities that I am experimenting with. I haven't tested the waterproof capability or shockproof but am confident it will be fine. The Tough features are what most influence my decision after having had Tough versions of previous models.
