Beach Camera is a great company!

Comments about Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 Waterproof Shockproof Freezeproof Digital Camera (Black):
First I'd like to say that Beach Camera is an awesome company to do business with. When I decided that I wanted to buy a waterproof camera to take on a cruise a few months ago, I discovered Beach Camera while searching the web. I immediately read many reviews to see how satisfied other customers have been and was surprised to see so many positive reviews. I called to ask questions about the Olympus Tough cameras and spoke to Ray who just happened to have been mentioned in numerous reviews. He was very helpful and honest answering my questions so I decided right then and there to order my camera from him. My new camera came with many accessories and the price was right making it a good value. Delivery was surprisingly quick. I haven't used it that much yet, but the pictures I have taken so far are pretty good. It's a little more complicated to use than I would like (I'm not that "tech-savvy"), but eventually I'll figure out all the functions. I'm excited to try it out on my next cruise when we go snorkling. Hopefully it will live up to all expectations.

This camera is used outdoors, and was purchased because I wanted a shockproof, waterproof unit. Time will tell if it lasts to normal abuse. Thus far it has performed good. The seller had a great price, delivered as promised, and I have purchased from them before with no issues
good for stills - very nice camera

For nature shots close up and people shots medium. Was hoping I could use the video function but I can' get the clips consistently in focus. One clip will be in focus the very next moment will be out of focus when the angle is the same, the focal point is the same and the conditions are the same. Other than that - the quality of the photos looks great.

Great camera / Poor instructions
By Marc the Sharc

While this camera is a great product the instructions that came with it are almost non-existent. Unlike my Olympus Stylus Tough 1030SW, this one had no comprehensive instruction manual and I cannot find a way to download images from the camera to my hard drive. It came with no software. The USB cable appears to only function for setting up the camera. It needs a comprehensive instruction manual to allow full use of its capabilities.

This is the second one of these cameras I've bought. I mainly use them on cruises when snorkeling and sight seeing. One thing to remember is, when in the water, if the water is silty, and your swimming out to clearer water to snorkel, stop for a few minutes as your getting into the warmer water and give the camera a chance to warm up, otherwise, it will condensate on the inside and may short something out as my first one did. Also, these cameras need to be sent into the factory once in a while to have a new water proof gasket put in. Otherwise there great.
Good purchase. Got it for pictures and videos under water in Grand Cayman. Wasn't disappointed.
