If you still own a Flip camera, then this Flip Video Power Adapter is a useful addition. There are times when a computer is not available to charge your Flip camera, so the Flip Video Power Adapter is convenient. To be honest, I have not had the charger long enough to comment on the technical aspects like overheating and etc. All I know is it has worked for me and so far I'm happy with the device!

i plugged the Flip Power Adapter into the wall outlet, then i connected a USB cable between the power adapter and the Flip Ultra camera with the battery to be charged enclosed.

The USB cable should be male at one end and female at the other. i prefer to use a cable instead of plugging the camera into the power adapter and letting it all hang from the power outlet. This works much better than using my laptop to charge the battery in the camera. i have several batteries charged for backup, and when one is drained, i just put in another.
