5 out of 5 stars   Good, as expected.
By Yuri P. (New York) June 18, 2011
Review submitted for Pentax K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Black) (PKKXKT255300K)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, High ISO Performance, Good Image Quality
Cons:
Other Comments: I was eyeing Pentax K-x for a long time, so the purchase did not bring any suprises or remorses. All pros and cons were discussed many times in other reviews and forums: Pro: Stunningly good picture quality Solid build (not Japan, though, but Malaysia) Two lens kit, also good built quality (not Japan, but Vietnam) Well-thought interface and ergonomics No shutter lag Con: Shutter a bit on the noisy side No autofocus point indication Stabilization lacks (however, since there are no discernible nois upto ISO 800, this can be compensated with shorter shutter )time

5 out of 5 stars   Great digital SLR outfit
By bruce the traveler (Colorado) May 14, 2011
Review submitted for Pentax K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Black) (PKKXKT255300K)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Good Image Quality, Fast Shutter Speed, Easy To Use, Quiet, High ISO Performance
Cons:
Other Comments: Both the wide angle 18-55 and the telephoto 55-300 lenses are great, each useful for different things. I really like the manual focus and being able to look through the eyepiece just like my film camera. Using the rechargeable batteries saves time and money. Very satisfied with this camera.

5 out of 5 stars   Should be everyone's first DSLR
By Corporate Hippie (Seal Beach, CA) April 13, 2011
Review submitted for Pentax K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Black) (PKKXKT255300K)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization
Cons:
Other Comments: Our first DSLR and really happy with its performance so far (we have it for a week now). We took it with us when we went birding, and found myself using the camera more than my binoculars to view birds and snap photos. Reviewing photos is quick and easy and like how easy to navigate through menus, and to quickly change settings via the e-dial. It's allowing me to become a better photographer.

4 out of 5 stars   Great Camera
By DJ from Chicago (Chicago) March 10, 2011
Review submitted for Pentax K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Black) (PKKXKT255300K)
Verified Purchaser
Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: This is my first DSLR camera so I'm still learning all about it. So far though, I'm really impressed and satisfied with this Pentax. The lenses make a lot of noise and are a bit slower when you leave it on auto focus, these are the cheaper, slower lenses but still take great quality photos. Someday when I've mastered these I'll move up to the faster no noise lenses. But these are great to learn on.

5 out of 5 stars   First DSLR Looking for Best Value
By First DSLR (Milwaukee, WI) January 27, 2011
Review submitted for Pentax K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Black) (PKKXKT255300K)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: High ISO Performance, Fast Shutter Speed, Large Clear LCD, Good Image Quality
Cons:
Other Comments: First DSLR. Did a ton of research. Looking for best value not cheapest but best value. Important features for me included FPS, shutter speed, low light photos, and taking pictures of kids during their sporting activities. Compared against Canon TSi2 and Nikon D3100. Outperformed those models in those areas based on techincal and customer reviews. Substantially less expensive to boot. Bought as kit with 55mm - 300mm zoom. Very early days but meeting or exceeding expectations. Beach had the best price by far after extensive price reasearch Net price was $625 with both lenses [...] Great value so far.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product
