The long zoom to buy for most Alpha owners
from Richmond, VA
I got this in a bundle with my a65 body. Even at full retail the lens is a reasonable value. The build is very solid but not too heavy. I've read reviews where color fringing is a problem but with firmware corrections turned on I haven't noticed this. I didn't expect to use this lens as much as the kit lens but find it's better built and funner to play with depth of field with. It's also surprisingly a much better 'macro' lens than the 18-55mm for taking pictures of flowers and such.

Excelent Lens !!!

Look the pictures I took, look at the moon... it's beautiful. And the raccoon.... no words if you have in your mind that good pictures need very expensive lens.

This comment is not a review of the lens, rather it is a comment about previously posted cmments. I have debated quite a bit about this lens over the 55-200 and while i have not made up my mind yet, I will just say that the 75-300 is not an auto-focus lens.some of the folks comments are relating it as such, but it is a manual focus lens and not controlled by the electronics of the body.

Sony SAL 75300
I am a Photo Enthusiast, but need more instruction. I bought the SAL75300 for my existing Sony camera. I have not yet used it, only attached it just to see how easy it was. I have plans to have one on one lessons on the use of my camera and this new lens in the coming weeks. Can't wait to use it for real!! P.S. Beachcamera was very fast and responsive to my original order and for the exchange. Thanks again

Good zoom lens
from Italy, Milan
I baught this lens just before I went to africa, it really helped me get the photos i needed of the aimals wich were sometimes far away and I caught great photos in the end. But I always had to use manual focus because I found the autofocus was noisy and very slow. Which if an animal was running I would find it easier to use manual focus rather then have to wait for the autofocus. But still a great lens in overall just remember that if you are going to buy it it has a slow autofocus.
