AUR MPD1 BLS Aurora Imagine Mini Acoustic Guitar, Black (Right Handed)
Good Tone And Projection, Good Playability, Kids Love Markering It Up, Attractive design
Non-adjustable Truss Rod, Terrible Strings, Gig Bag Is Nearly Useless, No Side Position Markers
This is a fantastic little guitar for the money. It plays much better than it looks like it will when you unpack it. I have already been accused of buying it for myself instead of for my daughter, it's that much fun to play! Tone, intonation, and projection are much better than expected for such a small body. The hardware works just fine; if you encounter what seems like tuner slippage, it is most likely the included strings (see the cons below). My daughter adores markering it up almost as much as playing along with her Laurie Berkner CD. Every time she sees it in the living room, she rushes over to play it. There are some cons, and my four-star rating is largely due to value for money. The strings that come on it belong on a toy. They stretch out and the windings unravel under both normal play and normal fine tuning. I replaced them with a set of D'Addario EJ15 10-47s and suddenly everything on the guitar worked just as it was supposed to. The gig bag is too thin to actually protect the guitar, has a zipper that will probably bust after a dozen uses or so, and a small, odd shaped pocket that can't really hold anything but picks. For the picky/choosy, the unit I received had visible glue poking out from beneath frets, joints, and the bridge and it already had a small ding in its thin finish. There are no position markers on the side of the neck; because of this, my daughter keeps wanting to play it face up on her lap, which of course makes it harder to fret chords. Lastly, it lacks a neck strap button, so if you want to put a strap on, you'll need to use an old fashioned acoustic strap where you tie it to the peghead under the strings.
Yes, I recommend this product
