An SAE-J1772 (universal) connector on the charging gun is compatible with almost all North American EVs, making the charger easy to use. Simply plug the charging gun into your EV charging port and charging begins automatically. An adapter (sold separately) is available for Tesla EVs. The unit’s flexible cable cradle offers built-in cord management that combined with a low-profile design, keeps the charger safely out of the way.
The SEV1600HW employs 240V Level 2 charging with up to 50A of power. The unit is hardwired by a licensed electrician into the home’s power system and during installation the chargers current can be customized for optimal performance. At 50A the unit can charge up to eight times faster than a standard Level 1 EV charger.
