Most types of reflex sight mountings require you to have them permanently mounted or require you to sacrifice the use or installation of your backup iron sights (BUIS). This system integrates a quick release to easily mount and remove your sight in the field without tools or the need to re-zero and a set of BUIS built into the mounting, including a matching front iron sight. This innovative system allows you to quickly remove and effectively aim if there's a failure in your sight. Additionally, this BUIS system uses battery-free tritium illumination so the front and rear iron sights have simple white dots in the daytime and illuminated green at night. Included with the adapter is a quick release plate for your sight plus a set of support plates that have predrilled and tapped mounting holes for the Meprolight Micro RDS as well as an assortment of third-party sights from a variety of manufacturers.
