IP67 Rated: The Klipsch Austin portable Bluetooth speaker is IP67 rated, making it water and dust proof. The IP67 rating means the speaker is totally protected against dust and is protected against the effects of temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter (3.3') for 30 minutes. It features a rugged, rubberized exterior with metal grille.
Full-Range Sound: The Klipsch Austin portable Bluetooth speaker houses a single 1.5" full-range driver powered by a built-in 10 watt amplifier, plus dual 1.375" x 2.1875" passive radiators to produce big sound from a compact speaker. The Klipsch Austin can be used by itself, paired with another Austin speaker for stereo sound, or paired with multiple Austin speakers for even bigger sound.
- Stereo Mode: Via Bluetooth, you can wirelessly connect two Klipsch Austin speakers together to create a stereo soundstage. One Austin speaker will act as the Left channel, while the other speaker will act as the right channel. Both Austin speakers will share volume control with one another.
- Broadcast Mode: Via Bluetooth, you can wirelessly connect up to ten Klipsch Austin speaker together to create a seamless, multi-speaker listening experience. Each Austin speaker will play the same audio source. However, you can have the speakers set to different volume levels.
Bluetooth 5.3: The Klipsch Austin portable speaker features built-in Bluetooth 5.3 with support for wireless audio streaming (A2DP), as well as hands-free communication (HFP). You can pair multiple devices (up to 8) to the speaker, but only one device can be connected for playback or phone use at a time. The portable Bluetooth speaker has a wireless range up to 40'.
- Wireless Audio Streaming: Support for wireless audio streaming gives you to ability to wirelessly stream stored music, music apps, and other audio content from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet, laptop, and desktop computer to the Bluetooth portable speaker. You'll still use your Bluetooth source device for playback & search control, as well as song/artist/album info display.
- Hands-Free Communication: A built-in microphone and support for Bluetooth hands-free communication lets you use the Austin as a wireless speakerphone for your paired Apple iPhone or Android smartphone. You are able to answer and end calls from the speaker's top-panel controls. Simply speak into the built-in microphone to carry on your side of the conversation and the other party will be heard through the Austin speaker. You'll still need to use your smartphone to make phone calls and the call will automatically switch over to the Austin speaker.
Klipsch Connect App: The Klipsch Connect App (for Apple iOS and Android OS) turns your compatible smartphone or tablet device into a wireless remote control for the Austin portable Bluetooth speaker. From the Klipsch Connect App on your compatible mobile device, you'll be able to control functions such as EQ settings, Volume control, firmware updates, and more.
Top-Panel Controls: Top-panel controls include four push-buttons for Power On/Off, Bluetooth Pairing, and Volume Up/Down. The speaker does not offer playback controls and does not offer a display. There is also a top-panel LED bar that indicates battery status.
Rechargeable Battery: The Klipsch Austin Bluetooth portable speaker features a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to 12 hours of playback (battery life varies based on volume setting and audio content). The speaker features a USB-C port and comes with a 41" USB-C cable that can be used to charge the battery using an USB/AC power adapter (not included and sold separately). It takes approximately 2 hours to fully charge the battery.
- Do not charge the built-in battery while the speaker is exposed to water or dust.
- The Austin portable Bluetooth speaker does not come with its own AC power adapter or battery charger.
USB-C Port: When you are not charging the Austin, the speaker's USB-C port can also be used to charge your smartphone or tablet device. Using the Austin to charge your device, will reduce battery playback time. Do not use the USB-C port while the speaker is exposed to water or dust.
Mounting Options: The Klipsch Austin portable Bluetooth speaker can simply be placed on a flat mounting surface such as a tabletop, desktop, counter-top, bookshelf, and more. The Austin also features a built-in strap that allows it to be easily attached to your bag or your bike's handlebars.
